Cosmology In The Quran

The concepts of modern science, of space, time, causality etc.., and those we derive from them are meaningless without the substratum of cosmology and cosmogony. For us, those are evolution, the Big bang, the notion of Space as an indefinitely extended 'medium', and time as a forward-flowing stream, all comprise the modern system of cosmology. This conception was developed slowly from cruder systems and concepts found in ancient Greece. The Quran was revealed to a people whose way of thinking, whose 'thought-world' (a term B.L Whorf uses), whose sense of space and time is completely different, as reflected in their language, and there's no language model that reflects this 'thought-world' better than the Quran...
